The Hanson Group is a Minnesota-based and highly experienced architectural design and structural engineering firm capable of accomplishing your engineering needs. With over 25 years of customer service throughout Minnesota, The Hanson Group has earned the loyalty and respect of our clients, both large and small. Attention to detail and quality, commitment to client needs, and focused problem-solving are the cornerstones of our practice. We provide a full-service approach to structural engineering for new buildings as well as building renovation and historical restoration of existing structures.

Experience, without ego.
Nick is a full time husband and father of 3 girls. He is an outdoor enthusiast and always looking for a fishing our hunting adventure. He spends most of his time in Minnesota as well as Florida and regularly travels to the Dominican Republic to build houses with Building Without Borders. Nick graduated with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Structural Engineering from the University of North Dakota. As a skilled engineer with vast experience in residential and commercial construction, he has experience with thousands of projects ranging in size and diversity. Over the years, he has worked with architects, designers, custom builders, and production builders across Minnesota. In addition to engineering, he oversees the operations of The Hanson Group.
Trevor is a full time husband and father of 2 girls, Trevor enjoys spending much of his time with family. He loves travel, camping, and anything outdoors. He is a connoisseur of Bourbon and dark coffee. Trevor was born and raised in Minneapolis and couldn't imagine living anywhere else to this day. He often aspires to purchase a cabin on a river—it has to be on a river. Trevor graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri with a structural emphasis. He has an extensive resume of nationwide projects ranging from high-end custom residential to industrial. Trevor is known for his creativity and outside-the-box mentality to projects and issues as they arise. In addition to engineering, he oversees the Quality Control procedures within the business.
Ryan is a wake surfing and boarding fanatic in the summer and passionate ski and snowboarder in the winter. He resides in Shoreview, Minnesota and loves this area of the state. Ryan graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering from North Dakota State University. He has a diverse background with experience in production townhomes, office buildings, and custom residential construction. Ryan is known as a perfectionist with a meticulous eye for detail. In addition to engineering, he oversees the CAD Standards within the business.
Garrett is a full time husband and father. Garrett considers himself a jack of all trades around the house. He moved back to his hometown of Elk River where he enjoys living a ‘country’ lifestyle. Garrett graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor's and Master's in Civil-Structural Engineering. He has a diverse background of experience working on industrial, education and residential projects. Thinking critically and being very detail oriented are typically his greatest strengths. Over the years he has worked with owners, architects, designers, and contractors across the country.
